MANILA (Philippines), 27 Rabi al-Awwal/20 Feb. (IINA)-Under the auspices of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the government of the Philippines and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) will meet anew on March 1 and 2 in Bandung, Indonesia, to discuss, among others, the proposal of the MNLF to create a new body called Bangsamoro Commission (BC).
The MNLF under founding Chairman Nur Misuari has proposed the BC to the government peace panel in their last meeting last year in Davao City which convened the Ad Hoc High Level Group (AHHLG) of the two parties.
Once formally established, BC shall be headed by Misuari as chairman. BC would be responsible for the full implementation of the 1996 Final Peace Agreement (FPA).
It will have members from the government peace panel, MNLF, three each from the Muslim ethnic groups, Muslim non-indigenous, non-Muslim indigenous peoples, and Christian population of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
The proposal will be discussed further by the government peace panel and MNLF through the OIC Peace Committee for Southern Philippines (OIC-PCSP).
Developments about the proposal were revealed by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) on its website Luwaran.com.
