The city of Montreal has issued a boil water advisory for Lachine and parts of Lasalle.
The city of Montreal is ordering residents of Lachine and two sectors of Lasalle to boil their tap water for at least one minute before drinking it, due to a chemical problem at the water treatment plant in Lachine.
The city says the problem has been fixed, but the boil water advisory will likely be in effect until Tuesday afternoon.
The advisory affects some 80,000 people in the two Montreal boroughs of Lachine and Lasalle.
All parts of Lachine are affected, except for people living in the Ville Saint-Pierre neighbourhood.
The two areas in Lasalle where residents should boil their tap water are:
- the zone bordered by Saint-Patrick St., Newman Blvd, Lapierre St. and Dollard Ave.
- the zone bordered by Saint-Patrick St., 80th Avenue, Dollard Ave., and LaSalle Blvd.
For more information, residents can call 311.
